“The drug suppresses irritation when coughing, changes the composition of bronchial mucus and thereby facilitates its expectoration. The drug is intended for the treatment of dry, irritating, difficult to suppress cough of various origins. On doctor’s advice, the product can also be used to soothe cough before and after surgery. The product can be used by children from 6 months, teenagers and adults.
Pharmaceutical form
A colorless to slightly yellowish clear solution with a mild taste – for oral administration.
Drug substance and its quantity
Medicinal substances: citra butamirate 0.08 g; guaifenesin 2.0 g per 100 ml syrup.
How to use
Patient:
up to 12 kg 1.25 ml 3-4 times a day
12-20 kg 2.5 ml 3 times a day
20-40 kg 2.5 ml 3-4 times a day
40-70 kg 5 ml 3 times a day
70-90 kg 5 ml 4 times a day and above
90 kg 7.5 ml 3-4 times a day
The appropriate amount of syrup is measured using the included measuring cup or pipette dispenser (see below for Instructions for using a plastic pipette dispenser) and washed down with liquid (water, tea, fruit juice, etc.).
The interval between individual doses should be 4-6 hours.
If lice symptoms do not improve within 3 days or if your symptoms worsen, you should see a doctor. Do not take the product for more than 7 days without consulting a doctor. If you feel that the effect of Stoptussin syrup is too strong or too weak, tell your doctor or pharmacist.
What to watch out for
Taking the drug during pregnancy is possible only in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters; it is also possible to take it during breastfeeding, but the drug should always be taken in consultation with a doctor.”
