Product information
The NOW Foods supplement is intended for pregnant women. The period of pregnancy requires special attention focused on supporting the mother’s burdened organism and the developing child. The product contains a comprehensive blend to support both of them.
The product includes:
- Vitamin A – a name covering the entire group of chemical compounds such as retinol, retinoic acid, provitamin A and retinaldehyde. Each of these compounds contains, inter alia, alpha-, beta-, and gamma-carotene. It affects the condition of the skin. Supports proper vision.
- Vitamin C – L-ascorbic acid, is definitely one of the most popular and essential vitamins for the body. It has antioxidant properties, strengthens teeth and gums, improves the immune system and facilitates wound healing.
- Vitamin D – in the human body contributes to the maintenance of the correct level of calcium in the blood and its proper absorption, therefore it supports the health of bones and teeth. It is essential for the functioning of muscles, plays a significant role in processes related to cell division, and also affects the work of the immune system.
- Vitamin E – is a fat-soluble group of eight organic chemical compounds, which include tocopherols and tocotrienols. In the human body, this vitamin contributes to the protection of cells against the so-called oxidative stress.
- Vitamin K – (vitamin K1 (plant origin) and K2 (animal origin), synthetic K3) influences, among other things, proper blood clotting. On the other hand, when supplemented with vitamin D, it supports bone health.
- Thiamin – Vitamin B1, is strongly related to the production of glucose in the human body. It affects the proper energy metabolism and proper psychological functions.
- Riboflavin – B2 is necessary for the proper functioning of certain enzymes, the nervous system and the organ of vision. Its deficiencies lead, among other things, to problems with the mucous membranes.
- Niacin – vitamin B3, or in other words vitamin PP, is the third vitamin from the B group discovered by scientists. It is involved, inter alia, in metabolic changes.
- Vitamin B6 – is formed by a group of 6 organic chemical compounds. It is responsible, inter alia, for the good functioning of the nervous and immune systems, energy, protein, glycogen and homocysteine metabolism.
- Folic acid – Vitamin B9 is very important for the development of the fetus – its proper amount allows for the proper formation of the neural tube. In addition, folic acid affects the functioning of the digestive system, stimulates the formation of new red blood cells and protects the body against certain types of cancer.
- Vitamin B12 – also known as cobalamin, is an organic chemical compound that plays an important role in the production of red blood cells. Vitamin B12 contributes to the proper functioning of the immune and nervous systems, the formation of red blood cells, homocysteine and energy metabolism. In addition, the appropriate level of cobalamin reduces the feeling of fatigue.
- Biotin – vitamin B7 or, in other words, vitamin H. Biotin is most often referred to as the beauty vitamin due to the fact that – as research shows – its appropriate level affects the appearance of hair and skin. Vitamin B7 contributes to the proper energy and macronutrient metabolism, and also affects the functioning of the nervous system. Biotin deficiencies are manifested, inter alia, by hair loss and brittle nails.
- Pantothenic acid – Vitamin B5 is primarily involved in the metabolism of proteins, sugars and fats. It affects the nervous system, reduces the feeling of fatigue and weariness, is responsible for the proper mental performance and energy metabolism. Pantothenic acid also contributes to the synthesis and metabolism of steroid hormones, vitamin D and some neurotransmitters.
- Calcium – considered a macro mineral. It affects the health of the bones and the circulatory system. Calcium is also necessary for the normal functioning of digestive enzymes, proper neurotransmission and adequate energy metabolism. This mineral plays a very important role in the process of cell division and specialization.
- Iron – conditions the proper development of the fetus and prevents anemia in pregnancy. It is necessary for the proper growth, development and regeneration of tissues in the body. It supports the immune and nervous systems, but most of all it is a component of hemoglobin responsible for the transport of oxygen in the body.
- Iodine – affects the body’s hormonal balance. It takes part in the production of thyroid hormones: thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). Their concentration in the blood influences, among others for the proper development and functioning of the brain and the entire nervous system, as well as muscles, heart and kidneys.
- Magnesium – is a mineral necessary for human functioning. It reduces the feeling of fatigue and weariness, is responsible for the proper synthesis of proteins, the work of muscles, the nervous system and mental functions. It also influences energy metabolism. Without it, the body cannot maintain electrolyte balance or carry out cell division processes. This element also contributes to the maintenance of healthy teeth and bones.
- Zinc – one of 24 trace elements. Its task is to support the immune system. In addition, in men with lowered testosterone levels, it may increase it, thus contributing to the improvement of fertility and maintaining the proper level of testosterone in the blood.
- Selenium – strengthens immunity, helps maintain the proper functioning of the thyroid gland, has a positive effect on the appearance of hair and nails. Interestingly, this element also influences spermatogenesis in men. The demand for selenium increases in pregnant women and those who are breastfeeding.
- Copper – This element contributes to the proper energy metabolism, the functioning of connective tissues, nervous and immune systems, proper hair pigmentation and iron transport in the body.
- Manganese – affects the work of the nervous system. It is a component of enzymes responsible for the processes of proper digestion and absorption. It supports the skeletal system as well as the condition of the skin, hair and nails. In addition, it affects the libido.
- Chromium – a mineral responsible for the regulation of macronutrient metabolism – chromium, naturally present in plant products, is an underestimated substance of great importance in the human body.
- Molybdenum – a mineral found in almost all tissues in the human body – most in the liver and kidneys. It contributes to the proper metabolism of sulfur amino acids.
- Potassium – necessary for the transmission of electrical impulses from cell to cell – action potential and is responsible for maintaining the correct electrical voltage on cell membranes – resting potential. In addition, it helps to maintain muscle tone and blood pressure, and is also involved in the synthesis of amino acids.
- Natural fish oil – contains eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) – a polyunsaturated fatty acid with a 19-membered hydrocarbon chain and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) – an exogenous fatty acid containing 6 isolated double bonds. Fish oil supports the cardiovascular system and eyesight, and helps maintain normal brain function.
- Borage oil – a source of omega-6 fatty acids, vitamins, tannins, flavonoids, minerals and saponins.
- Choline – is essential for the proper functioning of the human body. It is part of selected phospholipids. This substance contributes to the proper metabolism of homocysteine and lipids. It also influences the proper functioning of the liver.
- Inositol – Refers to a collection of nine stereoisomers. It can improve fertility in people with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and also make the body more sensitive to insulin.
- Lutein – a yellow pigment belonging to the group of carotenoids. In the human body, it accumulates in the macula – it is responsible for its proper functioning.
